The film recuts the Tsukuba and Suzuka arcs into an 84 minute feature, distributed theatrically by Nippon Herald in August 1987. Directed by Osamu Uemura, the production marks an early animation outing for Shigeno's racing manga universe two decades before Initial D would adapt the same author.
