Small Germander Speedwell Bowl dated and numberedThe wet start to the summer this year suited wild flowers and Germander Speedwell was abundant about the Dale. Known as birds eye or angels eye, Speedwell was once considered a lucky charm, the sight of them was said to help speed travellers on their way. Germander appears to refer to a corruption of Latin or Greek word, symbolising its 'ground loving' nature; a sprawling plant, usually seen spreading across a field, it rarely reaches more than 30cm
